A practice built for difficult moments
Bualuangtad Law was established in Chonburi to meet a need that many legal practices in Thailand had not fully addressed: the need for sensitive, unhurried support when a family loses someone and must navigate an estate together.
The firm grew from the experience of its founding practitioners, who noticed that clients arriving at traditional law firms during bereavement often felt overwhelmed — not just by grief, but by legal language, timelines, and processes that seemed designed for transactional efficiency rather than human circumstance.
Our approach is different. We open each engagement with a private conversation to understand not only the legal situation, but the family's circumstances and how they prefer to receive information. Everything we do — our written updates, our meetings, our filing choices — is shaped around the people involved, not around the administrative convenience of a law practice.
We work with Thai nationals and foreign residents throughout Chonburi, Pattaya, and the surrounding provinces, and we are experienced in inheritance situations that cross national borders — a common reality in this part of Thailand, where many long-term foreign residents have built lives, property, and families.

Inheritance law in Thailand: what families should know
Thai inheritance law is governed principally by the Civil and Commercial Code, which sets out a structured order of heirs and requirements for the administration of estates. For families with both Thai and foreign members, or for estates that include property registered in Thailand, these rules apply regardless of the nationality of the deceased.
A valid Thai will can simplify administration considerably, but even where one exists, the estate must be formally opened before a court administrator can distribute assets. We assist families through this process — from obtaining administrator status to settling all creditors, registering transfers of land title, and closing the estate with the relevant authorities.
Where there is no will, the statutory order of succession applies. This can create tension in blended families or in situations where the deceased had assets in multiple countries. These matters require both legal knowledge and a measured approach to the people involved — qualities we bring to every engagement at Bualuangtad Law.
